It includes the intrinsic harmonizing properties of the Himalayan Singing Bowls and other Buddhist ritual instruments. The sounds of the bowls calms, centers and paves a path into which the transformational waves of the Gong blend. Lili Zohar will begin with a meditation that will align the chakras and allow for deep opening. This will be followed by a practice of postures and breath focused on opening the channels of mind & body to the vibration of transformation through sound. The gifted vibrational sound practitioner, Gary Fishman, will create transformational waves of sound, bathing you with the rising and falling rhythms, tonalities and vibrations of the sun gong and Chiron. The Full Moon in May arrives on May 9th, but the high energy of this moon rides three days: the day of the full moon as well as the day before and after. This moon in particular is an auspicous one because it greets us on Buddha Day, the day of Enlightenment and it is also the day before Mother's Day. A perfect time to celebrate the mother of us all, our precious Mother Earth.

"The stillness in stillness is not the real stillness. Only when there is stillness in movement can the spiritual rhythm appear which pervades heaven and earth"
Ts'ai-Ken T'an (quoted in T. Leggertt A First Zen Reader)

The path of yoga and spiritual warriorship involves a fierce commitment to opening to what is present in each moment, with a clear mind and an open heart.

Join Lili Zohar for this two-hour workshop which will focus on finding the spiritual warrior within. We will touch the stillness within movement through breath practices, meditation and a full series of postures designed to open our bodies, hearts and minds to the beauty unfolding in each moment.

Lili Zohar has been a practitioner of yoga for more than thirty years and a conflict resolution professional for the last 14 years.

Lili teaches yoga as a method of opening to the fullness of life, encouraging her students to tap into a place of creativity and flow from a deep connection to the body, mind and breath in each posture. Lili integrates into her teaching the Vedic scriptures, insights from the study of Kabbalah, Buddhism, and Sufiism, as well as poetry readings from the world's great wisdom traditions. Chakra Yoga Workshops With Lili Zohar
Tuesdays, January 6 - February 10, 2009 6:30 - 9:00 p.m.
Investment: Six sessions for $360
International Center for Performance Health, Penthouse
1720 S. Bellaire Street (near I-25 and CO Blvd.)

Chakra means wheel or disk and refers to the spheres of energy created within us by the interpenetration of consciousness into matter. The main six chakras that correspond to the physical body reside along the spine and are centers of activity for reception, assimilation and transmission of life energies. A background and understanding of the Chakras provides a doorway through which we can better understand the various aspects of our lives, and the choices that we make. With this understanding we can begin to work through challenges and pursue goals with more clarity and purpose. In this six session workshop, we will explore these gateways to a deeper study of the self. The framework of the chakras allows us to become aware of and experience our physical, emotional, energy, mental and spiritual bodies and how they interact. Guided by the thousand year old study of mind, breath and body from the yoga Vedic and Tantric teachings and the more modern application from the fields of psychology, health and spirituality, we will enter into the knowledge and experience of these subtle energy centers. We will work with meditations, yoga postures, breath and sound practices, partner and journaling exercises to discover and explore these vital and information packed centers.

Come for this informative, life changing and fun exploration.

(And all who care for others)
December 6, 2008 11:30 - 2:00
Samadhi Center for Yoga

Good yogis are able to find internal resources to both care for the self and to serve others. This is an ongoing balancing act and requires self assessment, flexibility, and a good sense of humor and perspective. In this workshop we will work with ideas of how to care for ourselves as living vessels of love and sacred work. Caring for our bodies, minds and spirits includes awareness of good nutrition, cleanliness, balance between work and rest, time in community and with family and time alone, spiritual practices like meditation and work in the world that involves relationships, service and active engagement. We must also be aware of how our choices affect and are affected by the greater environment and web of life which sustains us. We will work with questionnaires and discussions to arrive at the right balance for our personality, lifestyle and phase of life.

Introduction To Energy Anatomy: Chakras, Nadis and Koshas
Samadhi Center for Yoga
Tuesday, October 14th, 6:00-9:00 p.m. with Lili Zohar

A background and understanding of the koshas, (bodies, layers or sheaths), nadis, (energy channels), and chakras provides a doorway through which we can better understand the various physical, emotional, and psychological issues faced by ourselves and our students. With this background, we can understand more deeply all the layers and levels that are balanced and integrated with a committed yoga practice.

The word "Chakra" derives from the ancient Vedic philosophies that gave rise to the teachings and traditions of Yoga. Chakra means wheel or disk and refers to the spheres of energy generated by the interpenetration of consciousness into matter. The six major chakras that correspond to the physical body reside along the spine and are centers for reception, assimilation and transmission of life energies. The seventh or crown chakra is above the physical body and allows for the reception and interpretation of spiritual information.

In this three hour course segment, we will use lecture, guided meditations, yoga postures, breath, bandhas, and sound practices to discover and explore these subtle centers. We will learn about the symptoms and affects of imbalances and how to bring awareness and stability to the subtle energy body, leading to a more fluid and integrated flow of energy.
